Window tinting in New York
New York is a strict-front state. A nearly clear ceramic on the front doors is how you cut heat without a ticket. The city, Long Island, and upstate all book the same way.
In New York, front side windows must let at least 70% of visible light through, and rear side windows are held to 70% as well. Rear glass on the back glass is not limited the same way. Windshield film stays a clear strip at the top, not a full tint. House and storefront film is not held to that driving rule. This is a summary of published limits, not legal advice.
