Automotive window tint
A parked car in July is not a shade problem. It is a heat problem. We tint the glass so the cabin stays usable, glare drops on the interstate, and the shade you pick is one you can actually drive with in Alabama.
Shades that match the car and the law
On a passenger car, Alabama requires the side and rear glass to pass at least 32% of visible light, with a small meter tolerance, and reflectivity stays at or under 20%. The windshield may only take a clear strip across the top. SUVs, trucks, and vans follow the same front-window rule. Glass behind the driver can go darker when the vehicle is classed as multipurpose and both outside mirrors are in place.
That is why “20% all the way around” is the wrong default for a sedan. We meter the finished windows and put the compliance sticker on when the law calls for one. If a medical waiver or a law-enforcement exemption applies, bring it up on the call before we cut film.
What the install actually looks like
Most cars are a few hours, not an overnight. Glass is cleaned, film is cut to the opening, and the edges are tucked so you do not see a shiny border a month later. You leave with the film still curing. Do not roll the windows down for several days. We tell you the exact wait when you pick up, because a coupe and a truck do not cure the same way in August humidity.

Which film belongs on a daily driver
Dyed film is the budget privacy option. It darkens glass and blocks some heat, and cheaper dyed rolls fade. Carbon holds its color and rejects more heat without a mirror look. Ceramic is the one that earns its price in Alabama: strong infrared rejection, so you can stay closer to a legal 35% shade and still feel a difference at 4 p.m.
Metalized film is the one we usually talk people out of. It can interfere with radio, toll tags, and cell signal. Ceramic and carbon do not have that problem.
