How to take care of new window tint
Most tint complaints are cure-time complaints. The film is still drying, someone rolls a window down, and a finger of film lifts at the edge. Here is how to avoid that.
The first few days on a car
Leave the windows up. How long depends on the film, the weather, and whether a back window has a defroster. Humid Alabama weeks take longer than a dry cold front. Small water bubbles and a light haze are normal while it cures. Poking them is not. We write the wait time on the paperwork for that vehicle.
Do not stick tags, suction cups, or a dashboard phone mount against fresh film. Ammonia glass cleaner is the other way people ruin an install. Use a mild soap and a soft towel after the cure, and keep the towel clean so you are not grinding grit into the film.
House and storefront film
Interior film can usually be cleaned sooner than auto door glass, because nobody is rolling it. Skip razor blades, magic erasers, and anything gritty. A drop of dish soap in water is enough. If an edge lifts, call before you trim it yourself. A lifted corner is a five-minute fix the week it happens and a full pane later.
